long plane journey to get there.
Photo 8 The Palm Trees The first
palm trees were planted in Torquay in the 1820's.
Now they can be seen everywhere and give the area
a mediterranean feel.

Photo 10 Cockington If you are
staying in and around Torquay, a visit to Cockington
must not be missed. The village with it's thatched
houses, the amazing cream teas and the beautiful
park itself - there is such a lot to see and do.
Photo 11 Princess Gardens Torquay has
many lovely, very well maintained parks awash
with colour and palm trees - a great place for a
stroll.
Photo 12 Livermead The distinctive
'red' of the rock that makes up this headland indicates
that shows it was formed in desert conditions that
prevailed in the Triassic Period, 250-200 millions
years ago.
